About Us
The City of Stillwater Community Center, known as Stillwater's "Family Room", was originally built in the late 1930s as a Junior High School built by Stillwater Public Schools. The building was acquired from the school district in 1991. Included in the facility is a 710-seat theater that has been improved by the City and Stillwater Community Center Foundation through the installation of new padded seats, professional lighting, and sound systems, which allows the Center to host various cultural performances as part of the Center's programming responsibilities. The City of Stillwater Community Center is the primary community presenter of diverse cultural activities in Stillwater, a town of over 49,000 people located only one hour from both of Oklahoma's largest cities, Oklahoma City and Tulsa, and only 90 minutes from Wichita, KS. In addition to providing cultural activities, the City of Stillwater Community Center has sixteen rooms to rent for public and private events. The center is occupied by users seven days a week year round for various events. City of Stillwater Community Center is home to Stillwater Community Center Foundation, Stillwater Jazz, Stillwater Community Singers, Stillwater Community Band, Society of Creative Anachronisms, Project Heart, several dance companies, and churches.
