HORIZON is an authentic, energetic, precise, harmonic, witty, and well-choreographed three-piece Motown music group. Dressed in classic Motown style, HORIZON's Rick Ingram, Prentiss Jones, and Earl Vinson will have the audience out of their seats, finger-snapping, moving, remembering, wanting to hear more of it all over again.
Tickets are on sale for $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $12 for students. To purchase tickets visit tickets.stillwater.org or call (405) 533-8433. Tickets will be available at the door as long as they last.

HORIZON has shared the stage with many legendaries such as The Temptations and The Four Tops.
Their most recent hit single, "Swing Engine," was performed in St. Croix where the record was number one on the charts for months. "Swing Engine" has a happy calypso/soul feeling to it and it comes with its own dance. As well, they enjoyed a great response to the video, which was seen on "BET's Caribbean Rhythms."
Knowing the importance of giving back a portion, HORIZON has donated their talents to many worthy causes such as the Jerry Lewis Telethon, March of Dimes, Children's Miracle Network, Michigan Cancer Foundation, and Isaiah Thomas Foundation's Celebrity Golf Classic.

Apr 3, 2010 - 7:00pm
"One evening, after thinking it over for some time, Harold decided to go for a walk in the moonlight." So begins The Adventures of Harold and the Purple Crayon, Enchantment Theatre Company's latest creation, based on the seven delightful picture books by Crockett Johnson that follow the zany adventures of an inventive young boy. As it turned out, there wasn't any moon that evening nor was there a path to walk on, so Harold simply drew them. And thus his journey began. Resourceful and brave, Harold creates the world he wants to explore, using nothing more than a big purple crayon and his sky's-the-limit imagination. Enchantment's innovative production will take your school and family audiences on a wild ride as Harold jets to the Red Planet (Martians, space ships!), joins a circus (he tames a lion!) and meets a princess in an enchanted garden (of course, there's a dragon, too). The "Harold" books have captivated families for more than fifty years, celebrating the imagination of children and the unique way they see the world. That's why Enchantment, one of America's groundbreaking producers of original theater for children and families, has adapted these wonderful stories for the stage as its 2009-2011 national touring production. Using all the elements of its well-known signature style, (life-size puppets, masked actors, magic, music) Enchantment has also added a new dimension this year with the use of large scale video animation. Capturing the books' simple purple line drawings perfectly, the animation not only creates Harold's world of make believe but provides an opportunity for the performers to interact with the setting. And of course, being an Enchantment production, the simple purple lines don't stay simple for long. This brand-new production will delight and amaze your audiences, from children starting at Harold's age, all the way up to grandparents - anyone, in fact, whose heart is young and adventurous. Recommended for grades Pre-K to 6th. Ages 3-11.

Apr 18, 2010 - 3:00pm
(STILLWATER, OKLA. / Oct. 10, 2009) - Bluegrass music from Alaska. It may sound like a bit of a non sequitur but Bearfoot, a band from Anchorage, is proving that the two aren't as unrelated as you might think. Comprised of Kate Hamre (acoustic bass), Mike Mickelson (guitar), Jason Norris (mandolin), Angela Oudean (fiddle), and newest member Odessa Jorgensen (vocals/fiddle), Bearfoot's rise from über talented music camp counselors to an established national touring band has been nothing short of meteoric.
Bearfoot will perform April 18 at 3 p.m. at the City of Stillwater Community Center, 315 W. 8th Ave.
Tickets are on sale for $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $8 for students (applies to anyone with a valid high school, college or university I.D.).
To purchase tickets visit tickets.stillwater.org or call (405) 533-8433. Tickets will be available at the door as long as they last.
Although Bearfoot has nine years, major festivals, and three albums under their belt, Doors and Windows contains many firsts. This is the first Bearfoot CD to feature guest musicians, in this case Andrea Zonn of James Taylor And Band (fiddle), Andy Hall of The Infamous Stringdusters (dobro), Alison Brown (banjo) and Larry Atamanuik, whose drums also represent another Bearfoot first. The band, all of whom sing, have also elected to rely more on a lead singer approach, with newest member Odessa Jorgensen taking charge of the vocals. California-born fiddle player and vocalist Jorgensen, formerly a member of The Biscuit Burners, joined Bearfoot in September 2008.
Produced by Compass Records' Garry West, Doors and Windows is made up of eleven gorgeous songs steeped in the bluegrass music tradition but unafraid to befriend other genres. The opening song, "Oh My Love" has a gentle, rolling melody that speaks to the freedom of loving without fear and is the perfect lead-up and juxtaposition to the toe-tapping traditional, "Single Girl". Bearfoot proves less-is-more on the old-timey inspired "Caroline" (written by former member Annalisa Tornfelt) and their show-stopping a cappella original "Good in The Kitchen". The title track, penned by Jorgensen and featuring hypnotic guitar and fiddle underpinnings, is darkly evocative musical poetry. Bearfoot tackles their first pop cover with a laidback version of The Beatles' "Don't Let Me Down".
"Overall, I think this album is more collaborative," says Hamre. "In the past it's always been 'we have to have a fiddle break, and a mandolin break, and another fiddle break', but this time it's more about the sound as a band than it is about individual solos. "I think that what's really cool about this album is that it captures our energy and when you listen to it, you want to move," muses Norris. "I don't know if I can say that about what we've done previously; every song is like that. It's physically lifting." Collaborative, uplifting, energetic, haunting, beautiful, inspired: all words that anyone should feel comfortable with while describing the sound of Bearfoot.
With the release of Doors and Windows on April 21, Bearfoot will again find themselves atop a cultural mountain where they overlook the past, present, and future of bluegrass music
